Valentine’s Day Cooking Class!（English Room)

Valentine’s Day is coming up fast. That’s why on February 6th, there was a special event held just for H1 and J3 students! We had a free event where 20 students were able to come and enjoy baking cookies and speaking in English.
I was very impressed to see so many students sticking to their goals by trying their best to speak only in English. They were successfully able to communicate with their peers and their teachers in order to follow a recipe completely in English. I think that every group did a fabulous job and they were able to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
I’m looking forward to having another event like this one!
バレンタインデーに先駆けて、English RoomではAll-in-EnglishのCooking Classを開講しました！まず初めに「友だちとも英語で話し、作業する」「新しく学んだ語句を実際に使ってみる」など、今日のねらいを生徒と一緒に確認してから、作業に取り掛かりました。ホームステイに参加したことのある生徒や、今後留学を控えた生徒も参加し、全員で英語の世界にしばらく浸ることができました。英語脳に切り替わってしまったのか、終了後も英語が止まらず、「あっ！もう日本語で話していいんだった！」と英語が止まらない様子も見られました。
実生活にかかわりの深い語句を学びながら、美味しいクッキーを作ることができ、生徒も大満足のイベントとなりました。
