“May” the “Forth” Be With You… (English Room)

“In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way” – Yoda Greetings from the English (D.R.E.A.M) Room and may the force be with you! Last week we celebrated two, very special holidays during our movie week. These holidays were “Star Wars Day” and “Cinco de Mayo”. It was wonderful to see so many students come out to watch “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “The Book of Life” with us.
I’m greatly looking forward to the upcoming English Room events such as the J1 parties!
先週のEnglish Roomでは、 ５月に縁のある２本の映画を見て学びました。“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”の日には特に多くの生徒が集まり、盛り上がりました。
スターウォーズの決め台詞「フォースと共にあらんことを」は、英語で”May the Forth Be With You”と言います。中に５月（May）と４日（fourth)が隠れていることから、５月４日はスターウォーズの日とされています。全編を英語で見るのは簡単ではありませんが、生徒は自分の知識を総動員して、懸命に見、好きなキャラクターについて英語で語っていました。
写真は中等部１年生が初の洋書「赤毛のアン」に取り組んでいる様子です。好きな作品をオリジナルの言語で味わえるというのは、多少の困難も忘れてしまうくらい、楽しいことのようです。（ALT Samantha, 英語科 西尾）
