J1 Welcome Party! (English Room)

今週のEnglish Roomでは、中等部１年生向けのウェルカム･パーティを行いました。
１日１クラスの招待制で、ほとんどの生徒が遊びに訪れました。友達に誘われて、English Roomに入学後初めて入ったという生徒もいたようです。生徒は、授業で習った数字の表現を使うネイティブ教員お手製のゲームに盛り上がりました。中身の見えない箱に手を入れて、その中のさいころなどを触って数字を当てる際もヒントをもらったり、楽しそうにコミュニケーションをとっていました。普段の取り組みを紹介し、ネイティブ教員全員と話すことで、生徒たちにとってEnglish Roomがさらに身近になったのではないでしょうか。
Every student from J1 is invited to attend these fabulous parties. Today, many
students visited us in the afternoon to try out some of our party activities.
This year, we wanted to make the theme of our party relevant to what the
students have been learning in class. Thus the theme of “Numbers, Numbers,
Numbers” was born. Our activities include mystery box guessing, candy jar
guessing, number darts, and more!
During these activities, students have the
chance to solidify their knowledge of numbers in English while having a lot of
fun! My favourite activity is the “Double Digit” mystery box. Students have to
put both hands into a giant box and guess what two, double digit numbers are
inside the box. If they get both numbers right, they are entered into a draw to
