Since Halloween is slowly approaching, Jason, Katie, and, I in the English room have decided to start our “Monster Mash” competition. For this competition, students draw their best monster and give it a short description. In this English description, they have to think creatively about who their monster is and why it is scary. Students can come to the English Room during lunch or after school to do their “Monster Mash” and use our stickers and pencil crayons. They can also take their “Monster Mash” sheets home to work on if they like. So far, we have received a few, wonderfully frightening entries. We will collect these “Monster Mash” sheets until the day of the “Halloween Spook-Tacular” on October 31^st. During the “Halloween-Spook-Tacular”, we will let students vote for which monster they like best, and which monster has the best English description. Then the winner will be rewarded with a secret Halloween surprise! It’s sure to be a terrifyingly terrific event!

　English Roomでは、ハロウィーンの準備として「モンスターマッシュ」コンテストを始めました。生徒は自作のモンスターの絵を描き、どのように怖いモンスターなのかを英語で説明して「モンスターマッシュ」に応募します。中1の生徒たちはそろそろ３単現のｓを授業で習うので、その表現を使ういい機会となっています。コンテストの審査基準は独創性と、そのモンスターが怖い理由です。生徒たちは昼休みや放課後にEnglish Roomへ来て、ネイティブの助けを借りながら自分のモンスターを完成させています！

　コンテストへの応募はハロウィン当日の10月31日まで、生徒による投票で選ばれたモンスターの作者には”シークレット・ハロウィン・サプライズ”が用意されています。素晴らしいイベントになることでしょう。（ALT Samantha、英語科　西尾）
