今週のEnglish Roomでは、３月のオルセースクールミュージアム（※）開催に向け、”Art Attack!”というイベントを行いました。”Art Attack!”とは、カナダ版「つくってあそぼ」ともいうべき、国民的工作番組です。生徒たちはこの番組を見てアートクラフト作りを楽しみました。生徒たちは普段おこなっている、科目として「英語を学ぶ」勉強とは違い、アートを作る体験を通して「英語を使って何かを行う」という、本来的な英語との関わりについて新たな気づきがあったようです。

Art week is finally here! We are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Orsay School Museum（※） in the new year! As we wait for this wonderful event to come to Denen Chofu Gakuen, we have decided to create our own artistic masterpieces in the English (D.R.E.A.M.) Room! All throughout this week, we will be watching clips from a very popular western art show for kids called “Art Attack!” As the host makes his creations, the students, Jason, and I will all try our best to follow his instructions and create some really interesting pieces of art. The first project we tried was to build a skyline of a city using recycled newspaper. I’m very impressed by how good the students were at listening to the English instructions and using their creativity to make unique skylines! （ALT Samantha, 英語科 西尾）

 ※来年むかえる創立90周年記念行事のひとつ。2016年3月19日～27日の９日間、オルセー美術館公認リマスターアート数十点を展示し、学園を美術館にするという企画。
