中３オーストラリア・ホームステイ【６日目】

オーストラリアに到着して早６日。また、新しい一週間が始まりました。
青空が澄み渡る気持ちの良い朝です。
今日は、生徒たちは、平常通りの授業に参加します。
今日のブログでは、今回の訪問校であるニューマン・カソリック・カレッジ（ＮＣＣ）の施設をいくつかご紹介します。
まずは体育館。
天井が高く、解放感のある空間です。
沢山のトレーニング・マシンがあります。
こちらは、学校前にあるグランド。
緑鮮やかな芝生が延々と続いています。
校内の至る所に野生の鳥が歩いており、kookaburra（笑いカワセミ）の笑うような鳴き声に、生徒たちは驚いていました。
こちらでは、TUCK SHOP（売店）が、ランチタイムに、大勢の生徒で溢れかえります。
TUCK SHOPの周辺には、生徒たちが自由に遊べるスペースや座ってランチが食べられるスペースがあります。
サラダやサンドイッチ、ピザ、パイ、スウィーツ、飲み物などに加え、日替わりのメニューも取り揃えられています。
こちらが図書館。
先日、ウェルカム・セレモニーが行われた場所です。
今日も、１日が終わり、終礼を行いました。
この後、お迎えに来られたホスト・ファミリーの車で家路に就きます。
明日は、２度目の遠足。
ケアンズ市内を散策します。
ゆっくり休んで存分に楽しみましょう。
昨日は休日。
皆、思い思いの過ごし方をしていたようです。
生活記録に書かれる英語の表現にも、少しずつ広がりが感じられるようになってきました。
今週も、様々な体験を思い切り楽しんでほしいと思います。
Today I went to the mountains. We walked in the mountains and took some pictures. I was able to see some animals. Today I learned that in Australia the weather often changes. When we reached the top of the mountain, the weather became cloudy. When we came down the mountain, the rain stopped. Next we went back to my host family’s house. And we played a game. We made and ate lunch. Today my lunch was a hot dog. It was very delicious.

Today I went to an art gallery and St. Monica’s Church. St. Monica’s Church had some beautiful painted windows. I cooked hamburger steak. It turned out to be delicious.

Today I played cricket for the first time. I hit a ball, pitched a ball, and ran! It was such a fun sport! We helped my host mother. We carried some dishes. And I talked to my host mother for a little while. I watched a quiz show with her.

Today I made a soy-flavored omelet for my host family. After lunch, we went to a beach. We ate some ice cream. It was very delicious. After arriving home, I watched Harry Potter 1 in my room. I want to watch Harry Potter 2 tomorrow. I should ask my host mother.
